More2Screen has been appointed by Eagle Rock Entertainment to distribute a revealing new music documentary film, AMERICAN VALHALLA, in selected territories worldwide from 16 June 2017.
Directed by Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and Andreas Neumann AMERICAN VALHALLA is the story of an unexpected musical collaboration between two mavericks of American rock: Joshua Homme, the frontman of Queens of the Stone Age and Iggy Pop, the Godfather of Punk. The film follows the recording of Iggy Pop’s highest-ever charting album Post Pop Depression, also featuring Matt Helders (drummer, Arctic Monkeys) and Dean Fertita (guitar, Queens of the Stone Age), and the explosive tour that leads to a crowning performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. With stunning cinematography and intimate access, American Valhalla reveals the growth of an intense bond between the musicians who have taken to heart the mantra: “you risk nothing you gain nothing.”
Christine Costello, CEO, More2Screen comments: “We are delighted to continue our long-term partnership with Eagle Rock Entertainment to bring this candid music documentary to our exhibitor partners around the world. Following an extraordinary creative process from the fizzing atmosphere of the recording studio through to the visceral energy of the American Valhalla tour, the film captures a very special collaboration in the history of music.”
Peter Worsley, Managing Director, Digital and Production, Eagle Rock Entertainment comments: “More2Screen has an impressive track record in distributing music content to their cinema partners across the globe and is ideally placed to realise the full potential of this seminal music documentary.”
